    hitachi 42pd9r10 dead

    Just got this tv as spares or repairs as wouldnt switch on so got it home checked fuse in plug and powerboard all ok plugged in and no sign of life no standby light or anything is there a common fault with these plasmas

        Do you know how to check resistors ? If so check the big block type that I have zoomed in on in the picture:

          Well--Whatever you do--Dont waste dosh on it!

          Every one of these Ive seen--Inc the Philips that used the same panel/chassis had a clapped out/cruddy PDP giving awful mal-discharge and nasty green fringing on fleshtones...

          Fujitsu/Hitachi used a low voltage PDP (65V Vs,--everyone else uses around 180-220v) with poor aging characteristics...

          Orrible bloody things, I don't bother with them anymore...

            Owhhh but would be nice to fix, they are quite reliable apart from that.

              The white ones? If so my meter says 10.4 on both

                Theres no voltage going to the powerboard from this when plugged into the mains?

                  Have you checked the white ceramic fuse on the board along side the connector or even the fuse in the 13Amp plug?

                  Just reread your first post in which you say you have checked both fuses.

                  Have you checked the On/Off switch to see if it has gone open circuit
