I have 6 HP VS17e LCD monitors that all have bad caps. The caps are all from CapXon. They appear to be model P548 vent. They are marked with 1000uF 10v KF. I'm assuming the KF is the series. My problem is that I don't want to use the same brand. I can't seem to find the exact match regarding the KF series. Can I just use a similar capacitor from a good brand like panasonic or rubycon? How important is matching the series?

Re: HP LCD monitors VS17e replacing bad CAPS
You don't need to exactly match the specifications of the original capacitor to make your monitors work again. All you need is a high-quality capacitor with similar specifications.
I suggest the Nichicon PW series capacitor, the CapXon KF capacitor is low impedance for switching power supplies, so is Nichicon PW.
For a 1000uf 10V replacement capacitor, a Nichicon PW series capacitor would actually be slightly better than CapXon KF. Also, dimensions are the exact same (10x16mm).
CapXon KF 1000uf 10V 10x16mm:
Ripple: 1040mArms
Impedance: 0.076Ω (20°C 100kHz)
Nichicon PW 1000uf 10V 10x16mm:
Ripple: 1050mArms
Impedance: 0.068Ω (20°C 100kHz)
Nichicon PW can handle slightly more ripple and has slightly lower impedance than CapXon KF.
If you are in the USA, Digikey carries the capacitor you need: http://search.digikey.com/scripts/Dk...me=493-1746-ND
Digikey is very good, orders are processed and shipped very fast, and shipping times are also very fast.
