Acer AL1716 1 second to black

    Acer AL1716 1 second to black

    I got a free Acer AL1716b LCD Monitor which when I tested, briefly flashed an image on the screen then the backlight went out. I used a flashlight to verify it was still displaying, just the backlight has failed.
    Got it opened up. Right off I can see I have a fattie Su'scon SG 25V 1000uf cap.
    It has 5 caps of this series. I was going to replace them all.
    1 25V 220uf
    2 10V 1000uf
    1 25V 470uf
    1 25v 1000uf
    What would be a suitable replacement?

    I use PANASONIC FM/FC/ or FR series from Digikey, they have to be Low ESR type and 105c rating. Just look at the dimensions of the caps and match them with yours.

        Thanks! I found the pdf of the SG series (I was surprised!) and it looks like the FMs are a bit better than the SGs but not too far out to make a big deal. So I ordered a set from digikey.
