    Re: Sharp LC-60LE832U

I have found a main board for a Sharp model the same as mine except it is a 70" vs my 60". The board looks identical and has the same KF733 and QPWBXF799WJN2 stamps on the board but there is 1 slight labeling difference. Mine has a painted on rectangular white strip with FM01N on it and the other has FN82S on it.

I am hoping that is some kind of date code and is irrelevant.

    Could you possibly confirm that?

    Thanks
    Rick S.

Okay, new Power Board, still same problem. One long blink one short. Power button still does not work nor do the shortcuts described in the other threads?

          Help.

So did you find exact same main board as yours?
Did you check with shopjimmy to see what other board is compatible with your 60" TV?

              Re: Sharp LC-60LE832U

Not yet, spoke with CS at ShopJimmy and he said there was no compatibility reference? Said it had to be exactly the same and they were out of stock on most everything for that model and not likely to have any in the future. I can't find any cross reference on the net either.

Board details on eBay are suggestive that their main boards fit a variety of models but I wonder if they really do or they need some sort of tweaking. I have been in contact with one vendor who has what looks like the correct board for a 46 incher and suggests it will fit several others including mine. When asked about the compatibility I was told it would need a firmware update and I should find we01xxxx somewhere on the board, not there?

I find it hard to believe that there isn't some commonality between boards from same brand/models.

Would love some expert input or guidance.

              Thanks
              Rick S.

Here is where I am at as of now.

                      Replaced Power Board; nothing changed?
                      Replaced Main Board; nothing changed?

Still one long and one short blink of the power light when pluged into power. Neither TV nor remote works for power on or shortcut to codes. Screen is black, no indication of any activity.

Can anyone give me some direction please?

                      Thanks

So with the new boards, are you getting the same Voltage readings as in post #58?

Have not, will need to tear it back apart to get them.

                          What else could it be?

Is this new power supply board? At least the old one you are getting AC detect of 3V (see your old post), this one is showing 0V.

Yes, this is with the new PB and MB installed.

This is just plain crazy, I am getting different numbers now when I use the chassis as a ground vs the pins #3&4? Appears as I now have power although negative on most pins that used to be zero including +0.1mv on #13.

Have to wait on a helper to write down the readings as I probe the pins, will be later today.

                                Am I doing something wrong?

                                Thanks for the help.

can you explain again what the "text" associated with pin 3 and 4 is trying to say. Further, what measurement test point are you using as a reference? Lastly, IF "GND" is indeed a ground, they should all be grounded with respect to a KNOWN ground (point).... likely some chassis point but not necessarily depending on mounting techniques and chassis build. The check for this is a resistance measurement (with power disconnected), and not a voltage check.

                                      added:
OK I think I see, you are using pins 3 and 4 for your other measurements. Although OK, it may be misleading IF there is an issue with grounding. It perhaps appears to be a potential issue as you seemed to indicate different readings based on a different reference point. Again, check grounds / grounding points... your readings should be the same / very similar for all points with respect to a KNOWN ground.

If all the boards are connected back in place, then your NEW power supply board has problem with AC DET (pin 13), at 0V the main board is being told that the incoming AC is not within the operating range so it will stay in shutdown.

Yes, all connected. Remember that I have no way of powering it on. These reading are with the TV plugged into a wall receptical.
