Thanks Bud, looks like SJ is out of stock. Going to buy from audiolabga. The strange thing is that Panasonic TC-P50ST30 model has SC board IGBT's 30F131 but TC-P55ST30 and P60xxxx has SC board IGBT's DG301's

LOL, looks like UTSOURCE. Yeah I've seen that. The Panasonic IGBT is rated at 330V 250A(40A) peak pulse, the Toshiba is 360V 200A (30A cont).

          I'm considering FGD4536TM for sub for 30F131 and DG302 on a 50S30 board

You see off, late I've been seeing lots of SC boards failure on 2011 models. And it does seems like to be a design problem as these FET's get too hot and no heat sink may be the reason for early failure.

Looks like Digi Key carry's FGD4536TM at the same price as that of UTSource. I'm curious to know how they perform.

I probably won't get to see long term how they go as the TV I'm fixing is interstate. Plan is and I'm assuming this thing has the classic SC failure. Assuming I get away with fixing it, it'll stay with my dad and I'll be 4000k away.

I was going to use those in the TNPA5072 SS but at the time were not available her, now they are.

I reckon they'll work. I don't trust everything I get from UT are genuine but having said that I'm yet to have a failure. My latest 5081 SC I used some questionable DG502 IGBT. Look nothing like the OEM but the board has been working fine for 6 weeks now.

I think no heatsimks and loose screws / poor earth could be a big part.

If you look at the last of the Plasma series boards, they actually went back to conventional TO220 and full heatsinks.

On the 5081 the only part that gets real hot and uncomfortable to touch is the Q661, every board that part fails and the rest fails with it it. My TV has no fans

It looks like the fairchild part FGPF4633TU might be a better replacement.
                330V 300A peak 50A working and a TO220 package.
                Any input?

So what's the plan on mounting a thru hole device where they've used SMD? Would also need heatsinks attached

                    I have a TC-P55ST30 that has shorted DG301. (to-263)
Can I repl with 30F131.? or with FGD4536tm.?
                    Which is the toughest one.?

I have used fgd4536 in place of dg301 and dg302. My brother still has the tv 1year later.

6month ago , replaced the one dg302 on a sn board by 45g127+heatsink then never heard about this repair , should work fine if you not mix them with 302 on a common rail lol

benting 3 legs to fit smd surface , fill pads of solders , leave respectable gab betweed surface and part , fit an heatsink then froze the heatsink with a large dip of epoxy if you are not like me , you will not forget to not take a to high heatsink because on slim tv it will obstruct the backcover lol ( perssonal experience )
