    I have an HP tx2 with black screen issues. The external monitor connection works and the screen, until recently, would come up at start up if left off overnight. The symptoms sound similar to GPU overheating problems on other HP's.

    Mattbrad2 you mentioned that you used your wife's tx as a trial. Is it worth attempting a reflow on this board?

      I dont know much about hp laptops (anything!?!) so probably talking rubbish but I should have thought that if it works on an external monitor then it would use the same graphics chips for the internal. Have you checked the connections and the inverter board and bulbs.
