Sceptre LCD monitor - white stripe

hi all - newbie here

I have a sceptre x20wg naga lcd monitor that works fine except it has a vertical stripe about 1 1/4" wide almost in the middle of the display that is lighter in color than the rest of the display, almost like a piece of transparent white paper is placed over it, everything is still visible under this stripe but it is much whiter than the rest of the screen. Any ideas of what causes this? Is it worth fixing or is it the actual LCD that is damaged? Any help would be appreciated.

Looks like the Screen is faulty, that is a typical symptom for that sort of fault.

Not necessarily. This might be a simple cold join problem or a bad cap. I've seen this a couple of times.

Will be interesting if that is the case,unfortunately I've never had that solution when I have had that fault.
