    Dell 1800FP No Power

Working on a Dell 1800FP. The monitor shows no sign of life. No Power LED, No Image. Here is what I have Done so far.

    1. D903 and D906 both had bad solder joints which were resoldered.
    2. T901 had a couple of Cracked solder joints so all pins were resoldered.
    3. Main Fuse is good.
    4. 165VDC across the Large cap.
    5. No power at the connector to the logic board. Should be 5vdc and 12vdc
    6. Checked IC901 (ICE 2AS01) for shorts pin 6 and 7 show 7 ohms. Does this indicate a short. DVM was on 200 ohm scale and shows .25 with leads shorted.

So far I have not recapped the board but I will if you think this is the next step.

Pictures of top and bottom of Power Board are attached. (Before I resoldered.)

Also what is a good source for the ICE 2AS01 digikey and mouser both show no availability and Ebay is either expensive or shipped from China.

    Thanks for the wonderful resource.

Yes. 7 ohms is definitely shorted. Pin 6 is VCC and pin 7 is GND.

findchips.com is a quick way to search all the big distributors. If none are in stock, get one off ebay and wait.

Thanks Retiredcaps. I went ahead and ordered 10 from China. Findchips showed everyone out of stock locally. Let me know if anyone needs one I will make you a deal. I will post back and let everyone know if this resolves the problem. Part won't be here for about 15 business days.

Just thought I would follow up in case anyone else was following the thread. The 2AS01 IC's showed up and I swapped out the one in the board. Also recapped all of the caps on the board with panasonic FM series. Board is fixed and is now working great. Thanks again for the awesome help.

The later version of this board, they put 20V 1W Zener Diode (1N4747) between the VCC pin and ground so the IC will not get damaged again during the start up sequence.
Max voltage for this VCC is 22V.
