I have a laptop that wont turn on. In fact I have a lot of laptops that wont turn on.. I figured it was some bad caps..
But where do you start? What are the easy "lets see if this works" attempts to repair the problem..
I just do not know where to start...
I have one motherboard that has what appears to be one tiny bad cap (the little square guys) and I wonder if I should even try to replace it.. could that prevent a whole board from powering? I have another board that has a bunch of little capacitors that seem to be going bad.. and it makes me wonder if those little guys can stop a board from powering.. I guess I just dont know enough about what happens during a POST (if anyone wants to explain that you would be my hero)
and is there a way to test the board without reattaching everything???
Like can I use a multimeter to test everything before I turn it on again and maybe narrow down where the problem area is...
