im looking to stock panasonic fm caps,as id like to stick with one brand,these caps are good in ripple ,low esr etc,is there any reason apart from the actual pysical size of these caps they cant be used in lcd tv power supplys,and main av boards,inverters etc?thanx!

fixed so far...376 lg lcd tv's,24 onn tv;s,24 panasonic lcd,16 jvc lcd,12 marshall jcm800 amps,refurb of various disco equipment lighting,old style disco decks ,and a flymo!

please let us know if everything works ok if your tv gets fixed, as it will be and aid for anyone else having the same problem and wishing to fix it.it would save people clogging up this site with topics that are duplicated,and can be found easily using the search function.,and taking up valuable space.enjoy your fixed tv!,hopefully! -

Many of us in the Monitor forum use them exclusively.
I did just that, filled my parts bin with all the usual values in FM, and a few FC as many of the FC are shorter physically.36 Monitors, 3 TVs, 4 Laptops, 1 motherboard, 1 Printer, 1 iMac, 2 hard drive docks and one IP Phone repaired so far....Comment

Be careful with FC.
They are good caps but their ratings aren't up to what a lot of the caps used in screens are.
Choose replacement caps by the Ripple and ESR. <- Important.
FM are usually good enough for what is found in screens but there are times you'll need something with better specs or physically smaller.
FM run a little large for their uF in some sizes so to keep the Ripple and ESR where it should be you have to go to a smaller can in a better grade.
For example I'm working with one now where none of the caps can be taller than 20mm.
The otherwise appropriate FM are too tall.
