Re: New Members - please post your introductions here

Hello all! I started back in the day with a VIC-20 and am now an IT consultant by trade. I have an interest in learning board-level repair and that's what brings me here. Thanks to all who contribute here making this site an incredible resource. Cheers!

First post. It's late and I'll certainly be back later today when I'm awake. Just researching/beginning the project of PSU repair on Apple G4 MDD. I've a basic knowledge of the process and have a few flat panel TV power supply repairs under my belt. Hopefully, the MDD PSU project will be as successful. Hello y'all.

                      Hey guys!
Name's Marko and this is most likely the best forum for troubleshooting TVs and that is exactly what I need at this moment.

                          Hi everyone!

My name is Rob, and I currently work in service and repair of sound and lighting equipment for nightclubs / theatres etc. I work for one of the Pioneer DJ UK service centres, and we work with Pioneer to identify and rectify production issues and common faults that we spot during the repair of units.

I'm quite well versed in diagnosing issues down to component level, and it amazes me the number of capacitors that fail early in modern equipment, as well as the havoc they can cause!

I love a challenge, and power amplifiers are often the hardest things I am tasked with repairing, some of the power management circuits are crazy!

Hopefully I can help, as well as get some help here!

                          Cheers

                          Rob

Hi all, I am Sailorsam 69yr old recycled English teenager lol now living in New Zealand. I have over the years done various electronic projects and now I build and fix computers for myself and friends. In recent years I have replaced the bad caps in the boards of various devices and can wield a soldering iron reasonably well. I like to see how others solve their problems and throw in my 2 cents worth if it can help. I will say thanks for the welcome here and I will browse threads here related to problems I have at present.

                              Cheers Sailorsam

I'm a newbie to this forum. I have an Electrical Engineering degree, but it has been years (>40) since I messed with component-level diagnosis/repair. Now that the day job is no longer there, I finally have time to get back in. . . . starting with stuff I pick up at ham fests

                                          Hello everyone,

My name is Jay and I am a licensed air conditioning and heating contractor near Detroit Michigan USA. I am merely a hobbyist with electronics and electronics repair. Building automotive stereo systems for friends and family and also being a guitarist for 25 years has recently lead me into wanting to understand the complex circuitry that is incorporated into electronics. Since I've always been a do it yourself type of guy I've decided to learn as much as I can about amplifiers and household electronics to basically feed my addiction of wanting to diagnose and repair everything that I can in this world lol. I guess that's why I enjoy working in the Heating and Air conditioning field.
I hope to share any knowledge that I have with people and hopefully gain some new found knowledge myself here.
                                          Thank you,

                                          Jay
