    Re: ELNA Cap Identification

I think you failed to detect his sarcasm....

How do you think the way a groove is cut on a piece of aluminum would affect how something sounds, especially since that capacitor isn't even part of the audio path?

    It's all marketing buzzwords...

LOL! It was sarcasm fighting back. With pictures!

I just wold like to know if someone knows WHEN those caps were manufacturated or if there is any datasheet for that series,
and not about the audio quality.

      Thank you, folks and mockingbird!

Well, the date should be on the capacitors yyww ( year , week) or the other way around.

But generally, you can look on the chips around the capacitors for date codes and give or take a couple of years, that's when the capacitors were made.

        As for datasheets, there's plenty..

        ftp://helpedia.com/pub/temp/datashee...t%204/_4/Elna/

See Elna 2011 Series Chart.pdf or Elna 2004 Series Chart.pdf then open whatever datasheet you want and have fun of the words

Even Nichicon has some buzzwords in their audio capacitor datasheets

"Realization of a harmonious balance of sound quality, made possible by the development of new electrolyte.
Most suited for AV equipment like DVD, MD."

Panasonic also had some audio capacitors with lots of silliness in the datasheets but I can't find them right now.
