I have an issue with the backlight randomly flickering bright and then back to normal. There are 18 long CCFL bulbs powered by 9 inverters. The issue will probably be either a bulb or the inverter board.
In the first instance, I wanted to connect an existing smaller CCFL dual-bulb assembly to each of the inverters in turn whilst leaving the other 8 intact. My idea here was to see if one of the bulb sets is creating the issue.
My question is this:
The bulbs I have to test with are from a 19" display so are smaller than the ones in this 30" display. Can I attach it to the inverter without harming it? Does a CCFL bulb have to match the inverter or does it just take what power it needs?
Many thanks
