Hi there,
I did a search for my specific model of monitor (Samsung Syncmaster 2053BW) but couldn't find anything. I did find results on similar issues on different monitors though. So I'm assuming my problem is a fairly common one.
Basically, if my monitor is off and I go to turn it back on, there's a good chance the display will flicker (light is really dim and seems to "shake") and it'll turn off after around 2 seconds. I've seen it flickering for longer, maybe 5 seconds and turning on fully, but not often. Sometimes it'll turn on like normal without a problem, but that's getting rarer.
I've read those Syncmasters are notorious for this type of problem. I've opened mine up already and I've got Samwha caps on the power board and 2 of them are bulged. I can't remember the numbers on the board for them, but there were the 2 470uF 25V caps right above the big single 450v cap. All the others seem ok, but I would still replace all of them if it is advised.
I've got 4x 470uF 25V, 2x 1000uF 25V and2x 330uF 35V. All of them are 10mm diameter or under (maybe 8mm for some) and just under 20mm tall. There's also that big single 450V cap, can't remember the uF rating on it though. Is it necessary to replace that one as well or not?
Can anybody guide me to some trusty caps I could buy to replace them?
What about these 3 types?

Thanks for the help!
