Chimei 5MS To 2MS RR, Possible?

    G'day

This is my first post here and feel lucky I found you, guys as I'm not very good with electronics.

I have the guts of a Chimei 19" 2MS screen (circuit boards) from a monitor I broke the screen. Can I use these boards into a 22" Chimei 5MS to get fastter refresh rate from it?

    Thanks for any answers

    John

The 5MS and 2MS you refer to is not the refresh rate which is usually 60hz or
    75hz?
You are referring to the response time? if so, this is probably a characteristic of the panel and will not be improved.

If you wanted to try you would need to change the mountings unless the boards had exactly the same fixing positions and also check that any
interconnecting sockets matched exactly. I have to say we do not have many people on here trying this - its is sometimes hard enough getting replacement boards off supposedly exactly the same monitor to work.

Perhaps someone who has done it before will be of more help.
Please upload pictures using attachment function when ask for help on the repair

      Thanks for answering.

I told you I didn't know much and thank yo for educating me. It may seem crazy but I always try to fix things, sometimes I get it right sometimes I don't.

      Thank you

You should find out first if the 19" inverter will have enough power to drive the 22" lamps

Many of these ultra-fast refresh rate screens use trickery to achieve the response time, by overdriving the pixels. I don't like this; you can often see shadows when things move fast across the screen. The overdriving is done on the T-con board, which is permanently affixed to the panel in most cases. It may be possible to enable overdriving in your video card's configuration software to achieve a very similar effect.
