Re: Samsung LCD led un55d6000 won't turn on

Yes exactly. If this PS doesn't sense the proper load from the backlight it will cycle continuously as you describe. What I don't understand is why your backlights flash at all - makes the possibility of bad leds more remote methinks.

So if you had the cable from main board to power supply disconnected AND the backlights cycle I would replace the power supply first as it's least invasive. If that doesn't cure it you're looking at some strange led malfunction requiring a complete dismantling.

So I replaced the power supply, the tv works fine except for one problem, the right top corner of the screen is darker than the rest of the screen. This is especially apparent during the brighter scenes. How can I fix this?

I believe the darker section of screen is caused by led backlight. You can not buy the strips. They are considered part of the screen. Generally no one has them for sale used.
Lots of work to replace one. I tried repairing one without any luck. I thought I ordered the correct led. A lot may look the same but can be deceiving.

This can be repaired but there is much work involved. I have no idea what your skill level is. LTank is right about replacement parts but it is possible to replace individual leds. Post back if you'd like to attempt repair.

Ok so when I was watching it this morning, the shading suddenly went away, but after about 10min or so it came back again is this still sign of a bad led? I'm not really repair savvy but I'm good at following directions

Re: Samsung LCD led un55d6000 won't turn on

Sounds like an intermittent LED or connection. A picture of the fault could help us.

Re: Samsung LCD led un55d6000 won't turn on

Since the top and bottom halves of the strips are run in parallel an intermittent led or connection as tom suggests would cause the symptom you are seeing. I will post a pic of what mine looked like in the next post...

Similar to this ? Notice the lower left portion of the screen and the downward diagonal "shading".

Flashing 5 times after power switch is activated is normal start up for most of the SAMSUNG TV.
Did you open up the TV to take pictures of the boards and take good visual inspection any Voltage measurement yet? That will be a starting point.
BTW, it is the exact same TV model as in this thread?

Hello. My samsung un55d6000 is not working. The screen stays black but when plugged in it has the led light next to the power indication is on. What could be the issue?

Did you do any Voltage testing at the connector of the power supply board that goes to the main board?
