    Samsung S23A550H Not Displaying Input

Hey guys, I have a Samsung S23A550H and I'm having some troubles with it.

It is an LED display so there is only one small board in it with an HDMI connector and a vga connector.

When I plug the display into power but do not connect any input to it the screen switches between searching for HDMI and analog inputs no problem. The power button works but none of the menu buttons do anything. When I plug in a HDMI source the monitor detects is but when it switches over the the HDMI channel the screen goes black and the backlights turn off. The power LED stays on and the thing just sits there. If i unplug the HDMI cable then the monitor just goes back to the check signal cable screen. The same thing happens with the vga connector, with the exception of the power LED. When I plug in a vga source the screen turns off and the power LED starts flashing and stays like that. The PC that I plug the vga cable into detects the monitor no problem.

I have read online that this may be a firmware issue? If so how would I upgrade the firmware? I know the display is working becuase it will sit on the check signal cable screen indefinetly. I checked the fuse and a few diodes on the board and they all checked out fine. There were also some voltage testpoints on the bottom of the board which also tested fine.

I hope that this is an issue that can be sorted out without a bunch of work.

    Any suggestions are appreciated.

I doubt that this error is caused by corrupted firmware. Check my earlier post in https://www.badcaps.net/forum/showthread.php?t=29987

You'll find a number of links to other threads dealing wih this error on Samsung SA LED monitors. There's a description of the symptoms the monitor shows when the firmware is corrupt as well as a guide how to upgrade the firmware.
