    Next addition: A light would be of practical use. So I have got my hands on a few 12V 35W MR16 bulbs. So this will be a proper load ~3amps from the battery, and a bit of renewable energy light for my computer room. I also built a 12V guitar amp, based on a LM386, and I can power this from the battery as well. So two practical additions.

    A kettle would be really handy, but I've read that 12v kettles are not really any good and require wires as thick as your arm for the current required to get the same power to the kettle... The single battery would not be able to supply that sort of power anyway. I wonder is there any sort of small 12v heating element I could get for defrosting food.. That would be handy.

    Was also thinking of maybe wiring up a few 12v plugboard and then put proper plugs on my 12V devices, instead of messing around with bullet connections. Bit worried about maybe somebody plugging in a 12V device in to the mains though..
