Dell 15r 7520(5520) bios dump needed

Hi, im working on a broken Dell 15r 7520 laptop and I am in a need for a pch and ec bios dump. The bios recovery system is not functional. The PCH bios consists of two bios chips (2 mb and 4mb). The bios from a 15R 5520 is the same but only if the laptop is equipped with the Ati graphics chip 216-0834065 ( radeon 7730M). If anybody can dump these from a working laptop, I would be very grateful. Thx

pls post motherboard markings, and also would be useful if you post bios and ec dumps

The motherboard is a LA-8241P , Rev:1.0(A00) with the 216-0834065 graphics chip

I can not post the bios dump since that is what I need...or I misunderstood You...

you should backup your nonworking bios first

i got raw file from update from website
if you dump non working bios from eeprom maybe i can rebuild bios... done it before, not on dell but all uefi bioses should be same/similar

edit:here is dump from 5520, no mine, found elsewhere
dump of 2mb file seem to be empty, i would not touch that, try flashing only main 4mb file and see what happens

I have seen that bios post and it is the same board but with the wrong graphics chip... I am not certain that it would work, at all...

if you wish to try i have extracted main bios 4mb from official bios update "7520A11.exe"

It is still not working and same behavior . It seems that the bios is not to blame. A hardware problem...7 beeps, but processor tested good. Just dont know if it is the PCH or the graphics chip...

that cpu beeps... it vga or chipset... i have had those symptoms before with dell m5030 n5030 and so on... after reflow it came to life, sometimes bios needed to be programmed after reflow... but with cpu beeps, changing the cpu never helped.... at least not for me

Hey guys, I just replaced a failed Inspiron 7520 motherboard and learned more than I ever wanted about how Windows 8 key is embedded in OEM bios chip. Now my desktop has a watermark and is prompting me to activate windows 8 to no success.

Is there a full bios flash available that is pulled from a valid good bios that can restore the new motherboard to fix my issue?

Is switching bios chips from the old fried board to the new board a potential fix? I don't know what chip is the bios on the board so would have to figure that out too.

I am not into buying another copy of Windows 8 and Dell and Microsoft were less than helpful.

I would really need the hex file for the second (2mb) flash chip.
Two days after a bios update I got a rom checksum error and I tried a bios recovery (hold END while plugging in AC with a usb drive plugged in with the QCL01X64.fd on it) and something went wrong (the laptop shut itself off after about half an hour and then it was like dead. no lights. no reaction to any button press...).
After that I flashed the rom file posted above (the 4mb file) on the 4mb bios chip and it reacts exactly the same (still dead)...
Is the hardware defective or is the content of the 2mb chip wrong (can that even prevent the charging led from lighting up?)?
I hope that I can rescue my laptop without swapping the mainboard...

I would also need the 2MB BIOS DUMP for the Dell 7520.

I have to write the 2MB EEPROM in an external EEPROMER.
So I need only a part of the FD-File.
In the FD-Files there are both ROM-File included.
The 4MB and the 2MB.

Is there a way to extract both files out of the FD for using in an EEPROMER?

Or can I split the FD at a special position.
I think somewhere in the FD-File there should be a pointer to the 4MB and 2MB ROMs (or the pointer is in the INI-File which is included in the compressed EXE BIOS-Update-File).

Dell Inspiron 5520 (LA-8241P) dump needed

Hi!

My laptop got bricked with a BIOS update, it was fully dead, the END + charger method didn't work. I have tried to flash LA-8241P dumps to 2MB and 4MB ROM, but it's still dead, can't even turn it on. Is it possible I have downloaded not working dumps? Can some one send me working ones? Thanks a lot for help!
