    hp 630 totally dead

    hello all
    how are you

i got a bit of trouble and im asking for help

got here HP630 with UMA vga

unit came with smashed LCD and was replaced
it was working untill battery was drained then turned off

tested with two good known chargers, not working
not even led on dc jack

found schematics, ordered and replaced U1001 (TPS51123) since it was heating much, but all the same
then upon examining found short on Q1003 (P1203) so i replaced it with FDS4406 and also Q1004 replaced with FDS4406 since thay are near

still same result, but no more short on fets
now i have shorts on CE2002 and C1011 but when i take them out thay measure good and shorts remain on pads so short must be elsewhere

im so bad at this pls help if you can

    sch attached

jp1002, jp1004 and jp1007 if any connected. If so open joints one for one and see if presumed short on c1011 disappears, then from there search which power rail is affected.

hey Donald , tibd is kind right , first does capacitors that was getting hot , belong to wich rail ? if its 19 volts rails , then inject 19 volts on the places you usually found the short . remove all of them who get hot "shorted" after removing all shorts time to see all S3 and S0 for outher small short or malfuctions or possible not ! if you need help let meknow

        Re: hp 630 totally dead

ohhh wait , c1011 is on 3 v line , so remove the capacitor and chek the coil of 3.3 volts and see resistance to ground ( one prob on the coil and another prob on the ground , start from 200ohm and if it gives 1 " infinite" start growing the class value ohm and let us know wich the resistance you got .
and btw wich is the ce2002 you are talking about it does not exist :P
