Another adult toy, after you put a battery pack.( portable microcontroller battery powered iron)
          Use 4 x 18650 = 16.4v, work really good with TS100.

All I try to doo the experiment is will cheap T12 tips can put inside TS100 for daily abuse use and save $.

PS: I ordered T12 tips is on the way, will update.

              i was wondering about that.
wattage shouldnt be an issue - fets can be upgraded,
but i wonder if the sensing will be too far out.

It looks like great tech but kinda fail on ergonomics - nothing to stop your fingers from sliding onto the heating element! Unlike every other soldering iron ever made. Sigh

I thought about that I try to put black silicone or high temperature red silicone over there of which for handle comfortable touch and stop sliding onto the heating element at same time.

                    Re: A deep-dive on TS100.

just put a thin washer between the tip & handle.
1mm difference shouldnt stop it connecting internally.

Open source software and hardware will be wonderful tools for school kids to study. I think this is a breakthrough put a microcontroller inside hand-hold soldering iron. The next step will be voice commands and wifi to your iphone...

PS: I try to add a LED which can light up the tip.

no, next step is to make it into a small case w/psu like the bakon bk950d
then plug your T12 based $10 iron into it - job done

One repair job paid for (TS100) itself. Customer is a DJ, needs his PC, the power switch broken, 2TB music inside, needs today. I said no time for parts order, if you don't mind, I will put a switch for you. The solder job is smoothly finished.

Best tips I ever got, is From Mr.Sti, just put a thin washer between the tip & handle. 1mm difference shouldnt stop it connecting internally.

Solve the solder tip to close to table problem, at meantime change HEX to Phillips screw .

last picture show lines is the camera problem, LG Stylo 2 PLUS 1080p camera used,

NO!! is the OLED I did not put in right position, and Polarizing filter film show the lines, but my eyes show was A good display. i FOUND the technology of how LCDs work on polarized light. I mean OLED=LCD same display technology.

Thats OK I will correct this problem next time.

PS: Ive fixed the bended TORX screwdriver, by heated the tips.

Should I return??? NO, I learn a lot, love even more on this pre-open TS100 than my wife.

This theftproof TS100, I could take a picture and show that was mine.
