    XFX 8600GT Recapping

Recently about 5 capacitors on my XFX 8600GT popped and I'm planning on replacing them. I read that I should replace FZ brand capacitors and any other capacitor with a vent on top. I've already picked out replacement capacitors for the FZ brand, but I'm unsure of the other brands and whether they need to be replaced or not. I don't want to have to deal with another capacitor replacement if I can help it. When I get home, I can upload a photo of my card if you are unfamiliar with my particular model.

Pics would be good. It's quite common for manufacturers to use different caps on boards of the same model. I've seen some gigabyte boards covered in nichicon while other boards of the same model with sanyo.
I love putting bad caps and flat batteries in fire and watching them explode!!

No wonder it doesn't work! You installed the jumper wires backwards

make the fz go bye-bye-- when they blow, the are the most violent in the world of bad caps (they sound like grenades and shoot their guts everywhere, a nasty mess to clean up).

some pics and cap values? this might be a good one to do a poly mod on...
