    Re: calibre 8500gt blown cap

There are a couple of eBay sellers who sell good capacitors (I'll let someone else list the good ones, because there are also a LOT of bad ones) - perhaps try buying from them?

Should be fairly cheap and might be a better solution than trying to find something decent locally if there aren't many good shops where you live.

      No, LXV aren't even close.

      You can't mail-order to Indonesia?

They make caps in Malaysia which is right 'next door'.
Hong Kong and Singapore aren't that far either.

Big Pope is a member here and he sells Samxon caps out of Hong Kong.

If you can't order from the US, use the following:

        1500uF 6.3v
        680uF 16v*
        470uF 16v

        * These may be somewhat taller than the originals and may stop you using the next PCI slot, but they will still work OK as replacements.

No wonder it doesn't work! You installed the jumper wires backwards

If you can paypal some money (or some other way), I think I can send you those at less than the digikey price + about 2$ for stamps ... but considering I'd mail them from Romania it will probably take about 2 weeks to reach you.

Not sure what I have, could be just 470uF 25v instead of 16v or 680uF 35v but everything I have is Panasonic FM/FR and Nichicon HM/HN

          later edit:

Yeah, just looked at my last digikey order, I should still have:

          P12377-ND CAP ALUM 680UF 16V 20% RADIAL 0 0.36340
          P14443-ND CAP ALUM 680UF 35V 20% RADIAL 0 0.57300

          P12343-ND CAP ALUM 1500UF 6.3V 20% RADIAL 0 0.39360
          UHM0J152MPD6-ND CAP ALUM 1500UF 6.3V 20% RADIAL 0 0.41800

          P12388-ND CAP ALUM 470UF 25V 20% RADIAL 0 0.36340

even later edit.. actually i guess if you really only need 1-2 of each and you can't find them there and can't use Paypal, I may take the 2-3$ loss and mail them to you for free... i like to do some good deeds from time to time.. let me know.

That could be your problem. the capacitor should be replaced with a very low ESR series, Like Rubycon MBZ, MHZ, or MCZ, Panasonic FL or FJ, Sanyo/Suncon WG, Nichicon HM, HN or HZ, or Samxon GD or GC.
