    Toshiba 40E200U1 turning off by itself

    So, I have this Toshiba 40E200U1 that keeps my noggin busy. I don't have the remote for it. Main board is a STC40T / VTV-L32603

    Symptom:
    It powers on, it runs for 5 to 20 mins, then it turns off by itself. Almost like someone set a timer. All inputs work fine. The main board stops sending PSON to the PSU. After it is off, I can turn it on again and it will run again for like 10 mins or so.

    What I did so far:
    Unhooked the inverter board = no effect
    Reflowed main IC = had no effect
    Cooled main IC with heat sink and fan = no effect
    Checked the caps on the main board and on the PSU and they are all ok.
    Couldn't find any bad solder joints,
    Unhooked the IR board =no effect

    PSon = 3.5V
    ACD = 0.06V ???
    DIM = 3.22V
    INV = 4.8V
    24V = 24.08V
    12V = 11.8V
    STBY = 5.1V

    Is it just me, but I thought the AC detect should be high, something around 5V? However, with the TV off, the ACD is sitting at 0.07V.
    I am in a similar boat like this thread: https://www.badcaps.net/forum/showth...0e200u1&page=2
    But his ACD was low too, same as mine.

    I've monitored PSon, 24V, 12V, etc. All I see is that PSon get's a little blip (something like a 0.02V voltage drop), then its back to normal and 2 seconds later, PSon disappears, so does everything else, besides 5V STBY and ACD. Weird.

    Make sure you have good pfc voltage. Had a dynex that would just turn off on pretty regular basis
    I assume no responsibility for any stupid suggestions I might post.

      If the PFC Voltage is good (380~400VDC) then I would disconnect the PS-ON wire going back to the maim board and force on the power supply with the resistor to see if it still goes off after 20 minutes or not.

        The main board is a 431C2751L13, thanks to SJ for the pic.

          Changed out 2 capacitors on the main board and just watched a whole movie on it no problem. I still have the back off. One cap was quite hot and had an elevated esr value, that is the one next to the LVDS cable c312. The other is on the input of the big 1.8V regulator in the middle of the board c184, which had quite the ripple on there, once I looked at it with my o'scope.
