    toshiba 37av502r vs 32av502r psu

I just bought a psu that came from a 32av502r and i put it into my 37 av502r, it start but i get the same prob. as before i.e the 5v goes down and screen goes out,
Do you think that those psu are compatible, here are the pics ,also should i change the diode d200 as mention by Budm

Assuming the 37" one is on top, no, the 37" screen uses more power and so the 32" PSU may not be able to provide this. You can see capacitor, transformer, etc are all bigger.

Then my second thought is can i use an external power supply for the 5v alone (i got one from an old video game ) because i remark that as soon as i plug the hdmi the screen goes out compare with video input that can last a couple of minutes.

Re: toshiba 37av502r vs 32av502r psu

It's probably related to the HDMI mode having a higher default brightness vs the standard AV mode, or it draws a little more power. I wouldn't advise the mod you are considering as it would cause issues for the rest of the PSU. For example, the main transformer controller IC needs a Vcc supply, which is generated by the 5V STB transformer. Removing load from that transformer could cause problems for the Vcc sub-supply.

I just found out that the voltage at pin 2 of the ic m200 is very unstable (going from.3 to 13 v constantly) and that pin is connected to the zener diode zd 200 ,can you tell me what kind of diode (not surface mount) that i could install .

Re: toshiba 37av502r vs 32av502r psu

It is going up and down due to the circuit is fluctuating not due to the ZD200.
Remember this d200 in this thread?
The 32" version is also affect due to leaky d200, the 32" version power supply is not going to be able to supply the power to run 37" without over heat and etc.

Well after all these forums tips (special thanks to budm) i got this tv working for good,it was effectively the d200 that was faulty, so with a good soldering iron i manage to change it, and restart the engine ,

Thanks again everyone and happy Easter

Thanks for the follow-up, they must have gotten a bad batch of D200.
