For TV boards and controller boards

Can put board where you need to remove whatever chip you need to do
Or maybe I do not understand how to use one

I already have a temperature controlled / air flow control hot air gun with a stand to hold it

the idea is not to heat under the chip, but to heat most or preferably the whole board.
if you only heat one area it can warp.

                  Not exactly.

You CAN heat under the chip, but it is also preferable that you heat the rest of the board to a certain level as well, so as to avoid warping.

That's why industrial reflow machines are actually 3-zone: a general bottom-side board heater that heats the whole board (but not to a very high temperature), a bottom heater under the chip, and a top heater above the chip.

Or if you are crafty, you can just use a bottom heater under the chip, but then you need to extend the time the board is heated from the bottom so that the whole board heats up eventually from the bottom heater. FWIW, I do that on a gas stove, and I've done enough successfully reflows now to say that it actually works better than the cheap Chinese garbage IR stations that don't heat evenly worth a squat.
