    Testing MB104 bridge rectifier

I'm need to know if this bridge rectifier is still good to use.
The outer casing broke apart while removing it from the PCB. I can super glue it back together but, it has a small heat sink that attaches to it.

    DMM diode test:

    (+) (-)
    probe probe

    1) + - OL
    2) - + .986
    3) AC1 AC2 OL
    4) AC2 AC1 OL
    5) + AC1 OL
    6) + AC2 OL
    7) AC1 + .525
    8) AC2 + .528
    9) AC1 - OL
    10) AC2 - OL
    11) - AC1 .540
    12) - AC2 .527

I'm thinking to replace it since I have to glue the outer case back together and bolt a heatsink back on it.
Also because of the #11 reading.

    CMJ,
    Rule of thumb.
If the case is cracked the part is gone.

Semiconductors and oxygen make a real poor mix.
Don't trust it. Don't glue it. Toss it as fast as possible.

As for testing, I use this gizmo.
I call it my cheap curve tracer.
With a scope in X/Y mode, you can use it to do a very quick check of diode junctions and other parts.

With a diode across the probes the sharper angle where conduction happens the better the junction is.

    Hope this helps.

It's like a ceramic cup with the internal components encapsuled in epoxy. I was more concerned with heat transfer and the super glue not holding due to temperature.

      I'll order a new one.
