    Re: Sharp LC-60LE830U

I thought there may be a different key sequence for this. As mentioned in my earlier post, I was able to get the power LED to come on solid, which I thought might cause it to fire, but it didn't. Obviously the power supply has the backlights shut down for a reason, and I am guessing that that one LED strip is still bad. I just wish I knew where to get one.

How exactly would you force start the Power Supply using resistors?

Do you need to bypass the error detect pin or simply cross 5V Stby and PS on?

We are asking so others will have a clearer understanding

Also, many of these Televisions have touch sensor buttons which are not active until the TV is powered on therefore, using a force start to determine whether the power supply is putting out power to the Led strips

Since, Sharp does use Error Detect and will shut down immediately, is there some other connections needed?

Which points on the Plug would need to be supplied power or changed to override the error detect.

We have read somewhere but have lost the link where someone removed a resistor on the back side of the power supply to override the error shut down feature

        Any one have any ideas?

There are many of these televisions out there which have failed LED Strips that need to be kept from the landfills

"Do you need to bypass the error detect pin or simply cross 5V Stby and PS on?" in this case the resistor (470~1K Ohms) between the PS-ON and BU-5V. This is just to verify if the main power supply sections will come on. There are also PNL_PWR control line that send the 12V to the T-CON.
But you must disconnect the PS-ON wire going back to the main board first.
You will need to force on the backlghts also.
