Good afternoon,
Seems all my searching on this problem always leads me to these boards - clearly the people here know what they're doing. Anyways, my monitor has gone the journey, it's recognised by windows, blue power light is on fine, but no display... I've done a bit of reading and a common factor seems to be certain resistors on the power board. I've checked the fuses that I can see and they're fine, and it appears that the popular resistors aren't at fault, but I'd like to double check that.
I've uploaded a photo of the power board (both sides - particularly the resistor area), and have shown the points on the underside where there is continuity. I'm no electrical engineer, but I'm assuming I'm getting the continuity in all the right places. So, if somebody wouldn't mind checking this for me and if this is okay possibly give some guidance on where to look next.
I'm assuming it is some sort of glue, but in the fourth picture (ending 3rb), the resistors have what looks like dried gunk (yeah, my vocabulary is that good), although it is rock hard.
Actually, my photos aren't too good quality (rubbishy camera), so rather tha reduce the quality further so they can be uploaded here I have attached them to imageshack - hope this is okay:
