    LG w2452t No power

    Hello,

I have an LG W2452t lcd monitor. For the last few months, if the power ever went out or the monitor was unplugged. It would not turn on unless it sat for a few days. Recently, when moving the monitor, I unplugged the monitor, but when plugged back in. The monitor would not turn on even after sitting for a few days. (no led light up on power button either)

I opened up the monitor and see no evidence of bulging caps. There was small traces of brown crust on 1 tiny cap on the main board (which easily wiped off), but no bulging. The power board caps seem fine.

The power cord is fine. Should I attempt to change all caps on the power supply board? Also, would the main board cap have anything to do with no power at all? Or should my focus be on the power board only?

    Thank you in advance

Can you post some clear pictures? The start up cap could be bad, I've seen some CapXon ones die without showing any signs of bulging (Usually the 47uF 50V ones, and the ESR was off the charts too) and it could be a voltage regulator on the main board. Use this guide made by retiredcaps to troubleshoot the regulators: https://www.badcaps.net/forum/showth...391#post274391

When you post your pictures can you indicate which cap had the crust on it
Unless it was glue It is almost certainly bad and will need replacing.

      Welcome to the forum-
We can help a lot more if you please post good clear pictures of the whole chassis, and then pictures of each board, front and back (in the same orientation) and close up of connectors, (max resolution 2000x2000 and 2MB) using the manage attachments button, which is found by clicking "go advanced" under quick reply.

Please do not post inline and offsite as they slow down the loading of pages.
