It is not just the two others. I will have to remove almost all caps.

Hi....sorry to steal the tread....but just got a Samsung UE55ES6100 that works OK...apart the top half of the screen which is dark....

I guess this is an issue with the backlight...anyone familiar with this model? Do I have to open the panel completely to reach the backlights for testing or are there other ways to make sure/test that the issue is actually there?

BTW....in this models the backlights are LEDs or?

            Thanks!

you need to open the cover of the TV and measure with yours DMM with reference to TV chassis the LED+ pins on BL socket at PSU... you have complete raw turn off it could be the inverter ... so need measurements before you do any things ells

OK...have taken the measurements....there are 2 connectors (have added the photos below) and the wired pins are marked R+/- and L +/- from 1-4....have put in the range for the pins where the voltage is not constant....fluctuates during the measurement...

                    R1+: 340-365V
                    R1-: 295-320V
                    R2+: 295-320V
                    R2-: 250-275V
                    R3+: 240V
                    R3-: 200V
                    R4+: 200V
                    R4-: 150V

                    L1+: 205-230V
                    L1-: 0V
                    L2+: 250-275V
                    L2-: 205-230V
                    L3+: 105V
                    L3-: 60V
                    L4+: 150V
                    L4-: 105V

                    Hope it is clear enough....

such measurements have many error.. this cant be.
do it in this way... yours DMM on VDC 250V and measure each group alone like R1+ with R!- R2+ with R2- and so on too for L side. always the + & - for same number.

It came out such indications regarding the common land, so no one measures.

OK....did the measurements for individual pairs:

                          R1: 20-25V
                          R2: 21-26V
                          R3: 40.7V
                          R4: 39.6V

                          L1: 6-11V
                          L2: 22-26V
                          L3: 24.5V
                          L4: 36.3V

The above given measurements in a range are as they were fluctuating during the measurement.

disconnect the socket between power boards and main boards then plug the tv in wall socket .. repeat yours last measurements way.
if there are no much different from last reading... post clear focused photo on yours power boards from top and down side.

Pairs with 1 and 2 have still fluctating voltages...

Pairs 3 and 4 are now all at 60 V each.

                              Photos of the PSU attached.

ok. so yours BL are just 2 channel each L1,L2 R1,R2 , this is had shorted LED, the other channel L3,L4,R3,R4 are fine read 60V.
you need take out the panel and all filter sheet to have access to the LED BL. also you need to replace all at once to have clean repair.

So, if I understood correctly....I have to replace only the 2 LED stripes for the BL?
No need to check/replace anything on the PSU board?
