    LG Flatron W2442PA

    working on a monitor for a friend no picture.
    opend it up and there are 6 bulging caps on the psu of the monitor.
    only repplacements i got for it are 1500 uf 16v original caps are 1000 uf 16v.
    should i use what i have or order the right ones for the moniter.

    correction 3 1000uf 16v and 3 470 35v...

    You can use what you have for testing only for now since you do not know what you have is low ESR type or not.
    I would order PANASONIC FM/FR series from Digikey. You might as well replace the two small caps (22~47uf 50v) in the primary side at the same time.

      yeah just dont have any 35v 470 uf caps i was thinking of getting them from the badcaps store.

        should i also replace the 450v caps?

          The primary cap rarely fails. Only replace if you get a wavy picture and buzzing noise.

            This seems to be common advice but is not always true. On this forum I've not seen it cause wavy lines... maybe it would do it on a CRT... but on an LCD it usually just causes the backlight to flicker or the monitor to not power on.
