    Faulty Dell ST2210

So last night, (at about 2am or so) I found a random dell ST2210 lying beside a dustbin, so what the hell, I took it back home and powered it on and boy was I happy, I thought I got a free working 22" screen.

So just now, I reconfigured my current setup (laptop beside 20" screen) to 22" beside 20" and laptop under the table. After much painful cable routing and re-routing, everything was ready to go.
So I fired up the laptop and booted into my desktop. I immediately noticed that the whites on the Dell display were yellow-ish compared to the 20" LG beside it, so I calibrated the colours and stuff.
I increased the brightness beyond 75% and the screen shut off. So I turn the switch off and then back on, the display was up again. after 10 mins (or so), it shut down again.

So more searching on google tells me that there is a bad capacitor in there somewhere.
After 1 hour of careful prying with my knife, I got the power supply and the main circuit boards out (the only boards in there anyway) and checked for blown/bloated caps - nothing

So anybody has any ideas? I don't want this display to go to waste :P

    TL;DR

My dell screen shuts down by itself after 10 mins of use, disassembly does not show me any bad caps on the circuit boards, any ideas?

    Thanks guys!

    -UPDATE-

I got replacement caps and replaced everything on the psu board, still shutting down, any ideas?

The current picture on the main post the the board before cap replacement. I'll post new pics once I get back home later.

When it goes off, it need to turn the main power off for half a minute before it lets me turn it back on. It also dies much faster on 100% brightness than 0%.

Tubes -- CCFL lamps in the panel - Reducing the brightness will help in short term
There is another thread today on a Dell s2010 may have a similar problem but more developed.

Can the tubes be replaced? O.o

turning the brightness to 0% lets it run for 20 mins at best before shutting down

This model is known for having bad lamps, it uses only two lamps instead of 4 for the 22" so they are driven hard to get the same brightness as 4 lamps, cost cutting.

Bulbs are quite difficult to replace - maybe the top one is in worse condition than the other
so try changing the cables around at the power board end and see if it makes any difference.

I've always had high expectations for dell monitors :/

what do you mean by changing the cables around? O.o

Anyway, I did come across some lamps online some time back. Do you think I can replace the lamps? I've already spent some money on getting all the caps on the psu board replaced, I hope replacing the lamps will grant me another monitor to use :P

Also, the lamps are not all that expensive O.o Should I grab a spare pair incase I need to "reload" the monitor? or will the new lamps last me?

You should try using the test lamps to verify the inverter function.

*if* you pull the lamps out and find how long they are in mm then you can look here for tubes or LED upgrade.

There are two white sockets on the power supply that the lamps plug into.

Take the plugs out and change them over.

just plug them in whilst still in the old panel
