    Samsung SyncMaster 920WM, part identification.

    Hi All,

I am trying to identify the part number for D803 and D805. The monitor is a Samsung SyncMaster 920WM, type number GH19WS.

This monitor does the typical back-lite comes on for two seconds and then off. I have removed and re-soldered transformers to the lite and replaced all caps. Still no joy, D805 is discolored and I can't read the value of the part. I also need to confirm the part number of D803.

Both D803 and D805 are dual diodes, what are typical reading I should get across there junctions with a DVM?

    Thanks, Joe

Hi - I cant see this model has featured on here before so we are just guessing what the diodes you mention look like - a picture wold have done it.

Two things spring to mind....the 1st is have you confirmed that it is not the Backlights themselves, which included the wiring to them that is NOT causing the problem ????
2nd..I assume that the diodes you are referring to are 3 pin devices, probably mounted on a Heatsink, and are Schottky Diodes ??/If so Put you meter on 'Diode check' if you have that function, and with the Black lead on the Centre pin (MAKE SURE NO POWER IS ON), you should get a reading the same to both outside pins of each Device. Then put the Red in the Middle and do the same....IF you get a short Circuit then they are faulty,if not they are probably OK.
A Photo would br helpful of course..

I don't know if this of any help, but I had a Syncmaster 932 exhibiting identical symptoms, to those mentioned in the OP.

I only had to replace the inverter transformer on the power board, and it's been working flawlessly for about 6 months.
