Is it true that a temperature affects LED performance?

    Re: Led

The short answer is yes. Temperature affects most types of electronic components in one way or another. Can you be more specific? Why are you asking this? Do you have a specific application that requires operation in extrreme temperatures?

If you are referring to an indicator LED, then just keep the current below the recommended maximum. I have found that most panel indicator LED's get plenty bright running at 1/10th the maximum current or less.

If you are referring to a high power flashlight LED, such as the 1 watt and above units built on their own heat sink, heat is a big issue in keeping the LED from destroying itself. The more heat, the shorter the expected lifetime.
      Is it plugged in?
