LG 47LV5500 Grey Lined Screen [NOW BLACK SCREEN]

Alright so to keep this brief, I have an LG 47LV5500 that when turned on, has a picture with many vertical grey lines. You could faintly see the LG logo and such in the background. It has sound. I followed this link and played around with the T-Con board and disconnected all the cables and reconnected them. After doing that, the screen now has a completely black picture. The backlight still works and everything but there are no grey lines - just a black screen.

I figured this means I should probably buy a new T-Con board as the first attempt at fixing this TV. Am I on the right train of thought?

Also, upon opening up this TV, there are standoffs on the left side as well as empty ports on the main board and the power supply board. That would lead me to believe another board belongs in this TV. Anybody have any ideas?

Attached are pictures of the screen and pictures of the empty ports and such.

Are you getting 12VDC at both ends of the SMD fuse on the T-CON board, chassis as the GND ref?

I am not getting 12v on both sides. I forget my reading but it definitely was not 12v.

How much is the Voltage then 5V? if not 12V.

It looks to me liked the panel has failed, have you tried with only one ribbon connected to the T-con (on the LCD side, not LVDS cable to main A/V board) at a time?

              8 days merits a bump

Gotta agree with Tom, Looks like the panel has died.

I worked on SONY TV a couple weeks ago, it has bad drive ICs in the panel that caused the 12V feeding the T-CON Voltage to drop down but not enough to blow the fuse but enough to trip the shutdown, I disconnected the ribbon cables and the 12v came back and TV does not go into shutdown, then I connected the cable back in one at a time to find out which section of the panel is causing the problem.

I have not tried any of that but unfortunately I've become rather busy as of late and have had to closet the TV for the time being.

Are you guys suggesting that I disconnect all the ribbons from the T-Con and measure the voltage as I reconnect each ribbon?

You would only need to observe if the image changes for now
