Toshiba L300 token issue ?

Hello, I've not encountered this problem before but i have a laptop i think has it, i just want to run it past you guys.

The laptop powers on fine, shows the battery charging in Windows, but as soon as the adapter is removed the laptop powers off.

Reading from other posts, before removing the cap i should remove the cmos battery and then i solder in 4 x 330uf tantalum caps diagonally ?

Testing the furthest pins from each other on the battery it's showing 11.5v on my DMM.

The battery is marked 10.8v, is it putting out to much voltage ?

more likely that's a "no load" voltage.
does the battery go through something like a resistor,diode or fet?

There is a diode and a cap.

The board is not bent, i have taken the photo through a magnifying glass to get a bit closer.

Very strange ! It's now staying on when i remove the power lead. Boots up fine on battery. It definitely wasn't before but
