Need guide to make VGA wire for Toshiba LCD Display (LTA084C271F)

Currently I am trying to connect a Toshiba Mobile Display (LTA084C271F) to a computer via the VGA port. Although I have found and downloaded the Toshiba LCD Display Datasheet as well as the pinout diagram for a VGA cable, it is still not clear to me which wires from the Toshiba LCD Display correspond to the VGA cable.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.

You're going to need a driver board in between the panel and the VGA port - you can't just hook up an LVDS interface to VGA...

Hi,

Google is your friend :-) Here's a starting point that has a number of inexpensive boards, looks like they are China based:

I should say that I can't specifically recommend any particular type as this isn't a project that I've looked at previously. You may need to get creative with the wiring as sockets may not be the same type that the display is expecting but with the datasheets available it should be do-able.

Earlier today I contacted the "http://stores.ebay.co.uk/njytouch/LC...sub=2982811018" to inquire about the most appropriate driver board for the "Toshiba Matsushita Display LTA084C271F" and their reply was that they could not help me with a driver board for the LCD I was inquiring about.

Per your advise, I googled for a driver board for "Toshiba Matsushita Display LTA084C271F" and had no luck.

Although I do have little experience with these type of projects, I am willing to build the harnesses necessary if I would find the appropriate driver board.

Please correct me if I am wrong, but the type of driver board that I need for my project is a "VGA+DVI LCD Controller Board Kit LVDS" like this one:

That is correct, your LCD panel uses LED for backlights so it will not be using the high voltage bcaklights inverter board as shown in your link, but it will have to be LED driver board. Not sure how difficult it will be to find all the needed boards.

Hi Robin,

I understand that I need the LED backlight board to power up the LCD display, but I also need the LCD display-to-DVI cable - moving away from a VGA connector and moving onto using the DVI connector instead.

To build the cable, I have done my homework on google and found the following:

On the LCD display I found the following pin distribution:


For a DVI connector I found the following pin distribution:


Matching the pins for the LCD display and DVI connectors, I got the following table:


However, it is not clear to me what to hook up on pins 14 & 16 on this last table. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
