samsung syncmaster 715v

screen is black when I use a strong light there is no image of any kind. The power light is always on you can't turn it off it stays green until you unplug the unit.All caps appear good. This is new to me. Where do I start?

Please update your profile with country and mains voltage.

We can help a lot more if you please post good clear pictures of the whole chassis, and then pictures of each board, front and back (in the same orientation) and close up of connectors, (max resolution 2000x2000 and 2MB) using the manage attachments button, which is found by clicking "go advanced" under quick reply.

We are a bit stuck then as I have no idea what you are looking at.
Can you find another model with the same power supply - search using the board number. Post the board number and a link if you find it on line.

board number is MJ19BS. also after replacing the 5 caps ,not the big one. I was no able to turn the green light on and off with the switch. However the screen still is black. I substituted the bulbs with a known good set that I have and they didn't come on..

My spelling is getting worse. I am now able to turn the green light on and off.

You can just Edit your post within 1hr of creating - but dont change anything substantial in case someone has read it - they wont go back and see the correction.

nearest to yours and post a link to it.
