    amw monitor slow warm up

I have a AMW 19" monitor that after turning on computer the monitor takes close to 10 minutes or so for the screen to go from dim to normal. I was wondering if weak capacitors could cause this problem. I took the power board out and 3 of the capacitors have a slight bulge at the top with no leakage. As time goes by it takes longer for it to warm up and today there is a little color flickering on the screen. I hooked up another monitor and it works correctly.

    Thanks...

Yes - replace the caps - do not get them from Maplins or ebay get good quality ones from Farnell, CpC, RS direct . Nichicon Rubycon or Panasonic FR FM and FC depending on availablilty in the size you need.

If you need to post pictures its best not to post inline or offsite.

I have ordered 3 new caps to replace the ones bulged on the tops. Hope it works. Onthe first picture what is the square white component behind the caps, on mine it is labeled danger?

If you mean in the pictures I posted as EXAMPLES only to show the the clarity we expect in the pictures, these are just that and nothing to do with your monitor.

However if there is some similarity and you mean the YELLOW component with writing on including MP-130I - That is the main transformer.

It is sometimes a false economy to just replace the obviously bulged caps as if they
have gone any others of the same make will soon follow. We usually recommend replace all except the BIG cap.
