I have two Dell 2407WFPb monitors that shut off after 90 minutes or so and need to be unplugged and plugged back in to restart. Both monitors will run all day with the back cover off for troubleshooting. I've read through the threads on repairing these monitors when they completely die. I'm hoping to correct the problem before there is the typical catastrophic component failure when the 120uf 450v capacitor fails.
I've pulled most of the electrolytic caps and tested them with an ESR meter and most look to be well within spec. I've ordered replacement capacitors to completely recap all three boards in these monitors anyway. Does anyone have a suggestion on what to look at if replacing the capacitors doesn't cure the thermal issue? I've checked all heat sinks, solder joints, and wire connectors already. Suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
