    That is very curious about pushing that theme button and it goes black. Does that button change brightness, contrast, etc? Because that could be a clue.
    It's good you tested the inverter transformers, because now its down to inverter components or a bad ccfl. If you can find a spare ccfl and use it for testing that would be the next step.

      Yes, the theme button does alter brightness etc. I think they are like presets for colors/brightness/etc as far the bulbs I do have a working monitor that i think has the same plug style bulbs it is a 19 in as well, but it is not a wide screen. Was debating about taking it down since it works using its bulbs hooked into the power system of the montior in question and see if the bulbs shut down. (would that work or would that be possibly damaging to the good bulbs) I just havnt had a chance today...been chasing the turkey lol

        Just make two test lamps and solder the wire directly to the lamps sockets on the board solder side.
        https://www.badcaps.net/forum/showthread.php?t=19987
        The theme button will make the monitor BRIGHTNESS/CONTRAST go through the preset brightness/contrast setting, just like your TV has preset for SPORTS, MOVIE, DAYLIGHTS, VIVID, etc.

          budm......correct me if I am wrong but if I read you information so long as it is 14 watt or smaller it should be fine as long as it is a cfl bulb correct. if that is the case then this should not be too difficult to organize. and just to confirm if I understand what you are saying I should solder the connections to the reverse the actual connection points were the plug for each cfl is on the board...sounds easy enough...now to grab my hammer and get to whacking so to speak....thank you for the help....will reply back when I have had a chance to see what I can make of it all.

            That is correct, the larger tube may not stay on. Yes, solder to the pins on the bottom side of the board, I do that when I do not have the matching connector to plug into the lamp sockets on the board.

              Ok, today's project went well....I did what you described and made the test bulb. I got 13 watt bulb, but i was concerned with how brittle the filament wire in the bulb was so after I soldered the connections i wrapped the bottom of the bulb with super 33 3m electrical tape. to help keep the wires safe and hopefully reduce movement as I might opt to use the bulb again in the future i hope. i used 22gauge solid wire for my leads. And I can also tell you that a razor blade cut through the bulbs outer shell but I do not recommend it unless you are calm and secure and have a anti cut glove. Does this look good to you budm?

                OK, attach both lamps to the set of sockets on the board and see if you will see any arcing since the start up voltage can be as high as 1500V.

                  only made the one should I have made 2? K I was following the bulb design you had linked. I am on hold at the moment on this project. Had to order new power cables for the monitor. The previous owner never gave them to me only have the one on my personal monitor atm. So on hold probably till some time next week. Will post follow up information as soon as I have it. Thank you for you help!

                    You need two since you can have two bad lamps in the lamp assembly.

                      well guess I know what I am building tomorrow lol. I had one other question the pictures I posted of the board if a I am looking at this correctly is the inverter board on this set up also part of the power board... and if that is the case if the inverter board is the problem will I be looking at replacing the whole board or can I install one of these universal boards I have seen is there a way to patch that in with what is already there.

                        You can disconnect the power to the inverter circuit section then you can use universal CCFL drive module, you will also need to locate the two signal lines for the Inverter on/off and the Dimming signal line.

                          I hope that is not as interesting as it sounds. Sounds like I need a road map of the circuit board. Oh well this is the fun part learning what i dont know.....I shall cross that bridge when I get there. Budm I thank you for info. So far all of this has taught me two things one...my soldering skills need improvement and as I always find I need more tools....if its a car or no matter what always a tool that makes the job go easier. lol

                              Ok I have the system set up. Have been testing this is what I have found so far.

                              I marked one light so I could distinguish the two sets. For simpler purposes here is a basic idea of what i had
                              #1= Red+white wire set = lamp one
                              #2= Blue+Black wire set = lamp one

                              #3= Red+white wire set = lamp two
                              #4= Blue Black Wire set= lamp two

                              Test sequence ran

                              1=4-appeared stable-did not shut down

                              2=4-appeared stable-did not shut down

                              2=3-appeared stable-did not shut down

                              1=3-appeared stable-did not shut down

                              1=2---flashed on....shut down

                              2=3---flashed on shut down

                              also noticed bulb -2 when powered on if wire was touched or wiggled the far end of bulb would flash or flicker.....tested further did not see this on any other bulbs wondering if it could be bad connection on bulb.

                                Re: Gateway Model LP1925 2 seconds to black image is visible with a flashlight

                                I do not quite understand your setup.
                                Form your pictures, there are two set of lamps on the LCD panel assembly; 1 set for the top edge, 1 set for the bottom edge.
                                So if you plug 1 set of the top edge into the two sockets sitting close to each other, then solder in the the two test lamps to the other 2 sockets sitting close to each other and the all 4 lamps come on and stay on, then it indicates that the inverter is OK.
                                The bottom line is that if all the lamps stay on, the inverter circuit is good.
                                Bad lamps failures:

                                  The picture is a little misleading sorry. that was the only picture i remembered to take. Two of the bulbs were hooked up from the monitor but i did not like how i was having to pull the wires like that. So i took the monitor all the way down and removed the bulbs .
                                  I hooked one test bulb to the top set of bulb connectors ...and one test bulb to the bottom bulb connector. since i did not think it would matter 100% which connectors they were plugged into. Then used the two remaining plugs to test the bulbs

                                      If you can get all 4 lamps (two test lamps, two LCD panel lamps) stay on, then you will need to look at the lamp assemblies next.

                                          I am glad that you are able to make a set of test lamps, it will save you lots of time next time when you have 2-second to black problem and try to figure out if it is the board or the lamps that are causing you the problem. You may want start saving those lamp connectors from broken screen or save a good set of lamp from it.
