    Wired Xbox 360 Controller

Cable on my controller was being a pain and had to be twisted or moved to get it to work, so decided to remove the wire and solder directly all went well, until i forgot to tape up the shielding of the cable.

Put it back together and now have a controller what lights up but isn't picked up by windows, theres one visible blown part but I can' make out the whole of the part number.

Anyone able to or from this image?

Q8 being the part in question http://i50.photobucket.com/albums/f3...C%20Mod/11.jpg

i'm not too sure but the rest of them on the controller are WV3 66 which I can't find much info on other than it maybe a SOT-23 I think anyway

or not seems the rest are all Dx labelled whereas this is Q8

It looks like the number starts with W1 to me.

Good job. I was searching for a clearer shot too. W1P is what I see.

a few different ones I can see, but can't find any info on the original part number

That's about as close as I have gotten too at other sites. Not definitive but things point to a PNP wide band RF transistor.
                Such as:

Is that glue or solder smeared on the Q8 pins and to the left of the chip? If solder you may have a short there between pin 2 and 3 through those honeycomb copper planes.

it's solder, was already damaged before the solder got there, me trying to remove it earlier and left some there.
