    Re: Vizio VO37L power problem

Thanks. I previously ordered a new board...just in case I couldn't fix this one, and it arrived today! Put it in and the Vizio light turned white with the power on button, then the screen lit up, but I get no reaction from the Menu or Input buttons....nothing on the screen...just a light blue background. Do I have to have an input device connected to get anything on the screen?

Did you verify that the LVDS cable between the main board and the T-CON board is seated properly?

TCON Board....is that the board with all the control buttons on the side of the unit? I have not removed that board, but will check it.

It is the board under the metal shield top center.

OH...OK....I thought that was called the Power Supply Bpard. Anyway, I reseated all the cables on it, but still do not get anything on the screen except the backlight.

But you did get the picture before when you jump U22, right? if that is the case, something is not right either with the new board.

No, I have never gotten anything on the screen until I replaced the Main Board. I now get the Vizio light turning white and a backlit screen, but no video yet. Does that indicate another problem with the Main Board?

OK, there is SMD fuse on the T-CON board that we need to check the DC Voltage at both ends of the fuse with ref to chassis GND when TV is ON.
And BTW, did anyone else work on this TV before or it just died by itself?

U21 shows no input voltage...could this be a source of the problem?

OK, where is this SMD fuse on the T-Con board (same as Power Supply Board?). The only fuse I see is the 250v ceramic fuse next to the AC input, and it shows 119.2v AC at both ends.

OK, I found the T-Con board (duh!!) and reseated the cables, no change. I do not see a fuse on the board, however everything is very tiny, so maybe I'm missing it. Can you give me a device number or a location?

I found a fuse on the T-Con board, I think. It is labeled F1 and measures 11.99v on both ends with the TV powered up. This what we are looking for??

OK, so the T-CON is getting the power OK but no pictures, it can be either the main board is not sending the signal to the T-CON or the T-CON is dead.

OK, that makes sense. Is there any way to isolate the problem between the Main Board and the T-Con board? I purchased the replacement Main Board on Ebay and it was said to be tested and working 100%. It does more than my old main Board, as it wouldn't even turn on the backlights. Any suggestions on isolating potential issues on the T-Con board?
