      i can only say Fallout 3 is a real bitch to configure. no matter how fast your machine is, that stutter issue can only be helped by extensive tweaking. (you should dig through the various wikis.....) this can help a lot but i never managed to get it to run completely smoothly.

        I started COD4 last night on my 32 bit XP Pro gaming box, just loaded the game, and let it load my last autosave from campaign mode.. Didn't do any playing, enough to force it to load more of the level in, but it hit about 700Megabytes for the game exe itself right after the game actually started in 3D mode.. GTA IV takes more like 1.2G after you've driven around the city a bit, and is always streaming content from the hard drive..
