    Transformer Tape

Have just received an inverter transformer for a monitor power supply board.
It has yellow transparent tape around it. Do I remove the tape before fitting or leave it on? The one I am taking off does not have any tape on it.

        Re: Transformer Tape

DealExtreme.com sells Kapton tape cheap. It's not that yellow tape but is high temperature and apparently is used for transformers, even where high voltage safety is needed.

If the tape is still sticky, and you have a use for it, keep it. Otherwise it will just sit around adding to a larger mess of stuff
