Re: Solder mask scratched
You can leave the copper exposed, or you can use clear finger nail polish in stead of color one. In the old day they do not have any solder mask since the board is not wave solder, when doing wave solder, all the exposed copper will have solder applied which sometime is not good to do especially when you have big copper plane, with solder mask, only the expose copper will be coated with solder.Last edited by budm; 10-04-2013, 11:35 PM.Never stop learning

Re: Solder mask scratched
One more thing I'm curious to know. From the photo is look like there a coating or something on the PCB and some soldering joints. I did some cleaning with zippo fluid using Q tips at the area after the soldering job and it turn whiter. Any idea are they PCB lacquer or solder flux?
Thank you.
