Anyone has any good replacements and sources in the US for a Sanyo OS-CON 2.2uF 25v Polymer cap? This is for a PC Power & Cooling Turbo-Cool Computer Power Supply. I noticed Panasonic adopted the OS-CON name but the lowest capacitance they make is 6.8uF, would this be a problem?

Hm, interesting. Would be more expensive, but you could put 3 8.2uF polymer capacitors in series, to get about 2uF.Originally posted by Almighty1 View Post
You might just be able to get away with using a regular electrolytic capacitor. 2.2uF seems too small to be a filter capacitor. Not sure why they would have used a polymer for a non-filter capacitor!

If you go with a ceramic, use X7R, X8R, or COG, and a rated voltage 10X the circuit voltage (unless you have a COG part). If you use Y5V or Z5U and a rated voltage only double the circuit voltage, at operating temperature your "2.2uF" capacitor may be .47uF or less, due to the temperature and voltage coefficients of the ceramic material.PeteS in CA

The series idea might or might not work since how will I mount the capacitors? Also, by series, you basically mean you have 3 capacitors, and the - of cap 1 goes to 2 and then - from 2 goes to 3 and then 3 goes to the actual hole? Same thing with +.Comment
