Hi,
I just want to share the fix for my Samsung 2253LW. The problem was that after a few minutes the screen would turn mostly white, with washed out colors, and the screen refresh would become incredibly slow. For example the monitor's menu would took 2-3 seconds to display, then 2-3 seconds to close.
This screen uses the CPT CLAA220WA01 LCD panel. The only service manual I found for it is in Chinese:
https://wenku.baidu.com/view/f624321...ded63b7da.html
The problem I found was on the board bonded to the LCD panel. You have to pull out the aluminum foil covering the board. The VDDG voltage at TP502 was OK at 29.9V for a few minutes, but as the screen was heating up the voltage slowly dropped to 17V. At this point the problem was visible.
I traced the problem down to IC504, a ME431 Adjustable Precision Shunt Regulator (TL431 compatible, in SOT-23 package). Using the heat from my soldering iron on IC504 made the problem happen immediately. Replacing IC504 with a TL431 solved the problem.
The fix also applies to the following monitors that share the same CPT CLAA220WA01 LCD panel:
Adelpia TGL2260A
Aoc 2219S-1
Dynex DX-LTDVD22-09
Envision G218A1
Envision H22W
Envision L22W861
Haier HLC22RW
Insignia NS-LCD22-09
LG L222WT
Philips 220VW8FB/00/93/96
Samsung 2253BW
Samsung 2253LW
Sanyo LCD-22XR8DA
Venturer PLV36220CS5W-DC
Viewsonic N2230W
Viewsonic N2232W
ViewSonic VA2226W-1
ViewSonic VS11803
Viewsonic VS12116-1M
Only try to replace IC504 if the voltage at TP502 does not read 29.9 volt.
I hope this can help someone.
