So youhave at least two problems; Main board, inverter/or lamp problem.
Hi all, i am new here and let me say i like how you operate,i admire your patience in trying to help everyone.
I have the exact same problem and same model, i have followed suggested procedure up to this point. i have disconnected the inverter board from the lamps and connected an external lamp to the output of each transformer,
when the tv turns on the lamp light up for a couple of seconds but the way it lights is not normal,it is bright for the first 10" then totally dark as if not lit,and the last 3" lit again.i am wondering is it possible the output voltage of the transformer is too low? also is there any way to force the inverter to stay on?

Ok,Managed to force inverter to stay on...my problem was arching in one of the lamps.

So do the lamp connectors have any black carbon marking due to arcing, or the lamp connector's pin are OK? Can you see the lamp itself?

No carbon marks visible. the lamp that was arching is the second from the top.Could be the internal contact in the screen but i didn't feel like taking everything apart to find out

Well, I just have gone through the same kind of symptom, lamp not fully lit due to bad socket or bent pin.

I placed a ceramic capacitor 150k @6kv from the output of the transformer to ground, that killed the arc by reducing the voltage to the ccfl.Tv has worked for the last couple of days, there is a slight shading going on about 4" from the top of the screen, visible only when the raster is blank. I will keep it on test and see what happens.

OK, that means the lamp is fired up but will not stay on in conduction mode, the cap becomes the load.
This is typical dummy load to simulate CCFL, value of the cap and resistor will depend on the switching frequency and the running voltage.

If i leave it the way it is what do you think might happen in the long run?

Hi guys! Same problem here, no video but good audio. I have a Samsung LCD 40".

The problem is that the tv has sound but no image. Every time a disconnect it for a while it works again, but when I leave it connected to the power source, it just has sound no video.

I deattached the cover and pulled out a cable, and also the fuse, but put it back again, and when I turned the tv, it worked again. (See image attached)

Please tell we if it has a terminal problem, or does the tv can be fixed.
